Repairs and touch ups so far

Well, ive gone over most of the cars rust spots with a grinder and sander and removed most of the rust from the doors and sides. Theres primer all over my car and i plan on going to APM in saint john for some car paint to cover the primer with tan paint. The trunk stays shut now, the antenna is straight, the headlights are partially re-aimed, although i need new headlight casings, the back bench stays down, the passenger door unlocks, the rear door handles go down when you let go of them, i have new studded winter tires on the car now, and its actually running better than it did when i got the stupid thing. Also, there's a new muffler, ive painted over the major scratches.

I got a car!

In October, around October 10th, i got my very first car! It's a Chevrolet Cavalier 2002 2.2Litre 140HP Ecotec engine, front wheel drive, 5 gear automatic transmission. Its a sedan, not a coup and the trunk stays partially open, the antenna is a little bent, the front right strut id DESTROYED, the muffler has a billion holes in it, the passenger front door keeps locking itself, theres rus all over to bottums of the doors, the rear right bumper is scratched so badly im suprised the fucking thing is ATTATCHED to the car, the 2 rear speakers are toast, the headlights do not project light onto the road correctly, the back seat is partially sticking up, and the rear doors handles stay open when you open the doors unless you close the handles manually. The car also needs 2 disc brakes and 2 drum brakes. Holy GOD this is going to cost a lot. <-- as of *October 15th* At that point, the car was at 251,500 Kilometres on the engine.

Nintendo 3DS

P.S, Its November 29th and i still dont have a 3DS. =3 Haha.

Jesus i havn't posted in a long time.

I kinda forgot about my blog, but i guess im back. Lazy grammar and all. :P. Anyways, it seems that i have plenty to write about on my spare time again, so i'll be picking up blog writing again.

Life...

Well..Im going to buy a 3DS here in a couple weeks. Hopefully ill get Ocarina of time or MGS 3: Snake eater 3D For it while im at it..and also, been playing super meat boy. Difficult as fuck. I like it. Unfortunetly..my grandmother is dying..shes 85 and the sweetest person i ever met. Hasnt complained a single bit, even though she has breast cancer thats spread through her body. =/ Im sad. On another foot, im making a write-up to IMVU about serious internal fragmentation issues with the client. When it doenloads geometry and textures, it fragments half way to hell. Hopefully i can raise awareness of this problem witht hem. =/ gotta do what ya gotta do. The head of the tech department still hasnt contacted me again in a long time..i think hes forgotten. Im going to remind him soon.

Florida Journal, Day 1

Florida vacation 2011 Journal Entries DAY 1 : First day of Driving

February 24,2011

@ 5:11 am (Atlantic Standard time -4:00)

Well its the beginning of the Florida vacation and my laptops finally on. Only took forever to start up. Anyways, we left the driveway at 4:43 am. Nobody has complained yet. God I'm tired.

@ 5:15 am

I just sneezed 5 times in a row and feel another creeping on. I'm also trying desperately to keep my monitor still because the hinge is damaged and its swaying back and forth..did I mention I have a bar jabbing my back? There’s a pillow blunting it a bit. We seem to be getting along though.

@ 5:05 am (Unknown Time Zone, back from Atlantic by 1 hr.)
We just passed through the new American border in Miltown New Brunswick. Its much bigger with 5 lines or so, and virtually no traffic. Completely by-passes Calais. My journal entries are now back an hour as I am recording the entries in the time of what ever timezone I'm in.

@ 5:39 am

Stopped at a Circle K for coffee and snacks. Couldn't figure out what took them all so long until Shawn came back into the van with a bag full of food. I guess he took it seriously when mom said “You can get anything you want.” Its also taken me about 1 hour to find the plug in the back, but I'm finally charging my laptop. Got 3.36$/gallon of gasoline at a Circle K. Whoa.

@ 5:47 am

I AM Having=f hell typign at the momnent. Ill leave this enry unpoin- Ill leave this entry unedited to remind myself later how bAd the airline road in maine is/. Its -19 degrees celcius.

@ 6:05 am

My damned watch wont shut up. BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP. These roads are total crap but the drive's not too bad. Time to sleep.

@ 7:41 am

I slept for over an hour, which is nice. We got snagged at an intersection that stayed red for about 1 minute and then turned green for 12 seconds. (Yes, I counted) Anyways, that was about 45 minutes ago. We left McDonald’s about 5 minutes ago, and we are in Newport, Maine. Stan called mom, apparently Tacoma cried for an hour last night but he's been good ever since.

@ 9:16 am

Were on a 3-lane interstate. So much traffic, but its not jammed at all. Mom said “I love 3 lane highways...” and I guess I see why she does. Shawn and I have been playing our DS's, dad has been chattering with mom, and Grammy has been sleeping / listening to an audio book. Its so quiet. Apparently we have been moving along quiet fast so we’ve made up for the time that we spent at stops along the way. This ride is very UN-natural...Grammy is not complaining for cigarettes, Shawn is not pestering me, and mom is not twitching every time someone moves. I'm going to try the Doritos “Flavour A” chips. They are onion rings and ketchup.

@ 9:23 am

OH MY GOD IT ACTUALLY TASTES LIKE ONION RINGS AND KETCHUP! Also, I cant seem to type or do anything as my finger keeps jumping around from the road..so much for smooth highways. On the bright side, there’s a bit less snow here..road-sides are all dirt and grass, and tree's have no snow on them. Its sort of annoying back here because mom and dad cant hear me from the back seat.

@ 9:47 am

We are now going on a bridge that's going from Maine to New Hampshire. (Piscataqua River Bridge) And..and..OOH we are finally out of Maine. In just Maine, we've payed a total of 7$ in toll's alone. Were in Hampton. Hah.

@ 10:03 am

We have left New Hampshire, and are now in Massachusetts. It took us about 4 hours 45 minutes to get through Maine, and 16 minutes to get through New Hampshire. Shawn is begging for a break and is getting restless and trying to wake Grammy up The roads here really suck, and I miss the roads that were paved well and cost you 1.75$ like every 5 minutes.

@ 11:30 am

After a nice long sleep, I have discovered that we have finally reached our next rest stop. So we got out here and mom was (half halfheartedly) screaming “YAY, WERE HERE! WOO!”. Then, when I mentioned all the New England Patriots merchandise all over the place and asked about it, I was told by mom “Of course, were in New England.”. So were in New England. COOL! I noticed that cashiers in the states are not nearly as nice and polite as Canadian cashiers. I find that the Cashiers here just sort of hand you your food and say “Here you go.” versus “There you are, have a nice day! -smile at customer-) Also, its 5 degrees Celsius here and there is much much less snow.

@ 11:50 am
Dad got all confused about how to pay for gasoline so we were at the rest stop for 20 minutes longer than usual. We are slightly over half way done day 1 of driving.

@ 12:05 pm

We have just left Massachusetts and are now going into Connecticut. 6-7 hours left of driving for the day. Woooo. -Twirl fingers in circles-

@ 12:39 pm

I got a piece of my ear bud stuck in my ear and I'm very worried, and the section of road were traveling on is really crappy. I can barely type.

@ 1:32 pm

We are now entering New York state. The van is a mess, Shawn is cranky, mom is sick and I still have a damned ear bud piece in my ear because mom and dad wont stop yet because a few minutes stopped would slow us down. What a drag.

@ 2:40 pm

Well we FINALLY stopped to go pee and check my ear. Its not even in my ear. I think it probably came out the other day when I noticed a rubber pad missing. That is most likely what happened, and now I am enjoying myself once again. Were still in new york, and we passed a sign pointing to new york city ages ago. Soon were going to be in New Jersey, but we will only be there for 5-10 minutes as we are just clipping the edge of it. Mom just pat my head from behind me and said I love you. Awww.

@ 2:51 pm

We are now in New Jersey. So I guess in 5 minutes or so we're gonna be in Pennsylvania. On a personal note out of boredom, id like to take the chance to say that I really really want a new net book. I also really really want to get to Florida ASAP.

@ 2:53 pm

Well now we're driving through the Appalachian mountains. I'm actually not very impressed. Not a bad sight, but they look more like big hills with snow and dead trees. Oh well.

@ 2:56 pm

Well as soon as I put my laptop into sleep mode, I saw a new sign. We are now in Pennsylvania. New Jersey sure didn't last long did it?

@ 3:55 pm

Shawn is getting very annoying. He keeps saying “Are we there yet???” and he isn't kidding. However, he is going to try to sleep now. (Thank god) Its gray and foggy out and its spitting rain. There is still plenty of snow out.

@ 4:16 pm

Its snowing out..I cant wait until we make it to Florida. Shawn is nagging me and bothering me on purpose. Where are my ear buds.. oh I got em.

@ 4:34 pm

Well its 3 degree's Celsius now, and its slushing out. Mom just woke up and Shawn is still picking his nose. What a looooong drive. We are currently on the I-81 (interstate 81) to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

@ 5:40 pm

Its 6 degree's Celsius here in Hershey Pennsylvania, and I am getting motion sick. We stopped for 5-10 minutes for fuel, snacks, and a rest and JEEZ. I stepped out and everything was spinning a bit. I cannot wait until we stop for the night. Dad is finally getting a break from driving. (he drove about 4 & ½ hours) Apparently, there has been a major vehicle accident and its causing a big detour on the interstate. Fortunately its a big highway so that wont take too long.

@ 5:45 pm

Were near the accident. I can't see it yet, but there's a major traffic jam now. The highway is split into 2 highways here and BOTH are jammed up. We are barely moving.

@ 6:00 pm

I was wrong. We are a LONG way's away from whatever happened. Must have been a real doozie.

@ 6:21 pm
Dear GOD we are FINALLY moving. We have been crawling along for like 40 minutes. Maybe now we can get somewhere..wait..nope were still moving slowly..jeez our original ETA was around 6:29pm ..its now at 8:00pm. What in gods name could jam up ALL the traffic on a massive interstate?? Did a transport do a barrel roll and lay sideways in the highway? Did a bomb go off? Did all the traffic collide? Im going to try a Big Turk. God help me. -few minutes later- Its very good.

@ 6:52 pm

We took the detour route. Were lost.

@ 6:58 pm

Were probably back on route again. We apparently took the wrong route. Dad's fault. He said to follow traffic and Grammy called him on it. Anyways, were (hopefully) working our way back to the I-81.

@ 7:03 pm

We are back onto the I-81. Highway is now open again, and that detour was friggin pointless and we are now 2 hours delayed. Didn't actually see the accident, but it was a death.

@ 8:05 pm

We have finally gotten out of Pennsylvania now, and have found ourselves in Maryland. Less than an hour until we reach our hotel. There, we will have pizza and sleep. Thank god, I'm getting so tired and motion sick. Throughout the entire day, no major arguments.

@ 8:17 pm

We have just entered West Virginia. Good bye, Maryland. Apparently the last state we need to get to tonight is Virginia. We are approx. 30 mins away from our stop for the night.

@ 8:34 pm

Mom just made a false alarm. She thought we were out of the snow, but as it turns out snow gets dark when its night time. Who'd have guessed?

@ 8:37 pm

The flag for our hotel is now on the GPS. ETA: 15 minutes. BEAUTIFUL. Ill be able to hop onto the internet and post this @ my blog. Maybe if I link it VIA deviant art Mandy and Malteaser and Alishurrr will get to see whats going on in my Florida vacation. If you guys are reading this, wish you were here! Well..by here I mean I wish you were going because West Virginia isn't all that fun =).

@ 8:40 pm

We have now entered Virginia. 11 minutes until hotel stop. WOOOO!!! I am so glad I have the album “Scream” (Thanks so much Mandy!! I'll not forget to buy a headley CD for you!) as its given me plenty to listen to on the way down.

@ 8:43 pm

Oooookkkaaaayy... were DEFINETLY in a religious area..or as my parents seem to be calling it, “The religious belt”. We just passed a giant spot-lighted cross (purple light, white steel frame). Oh my god. (Pun intended.)

@ 8:48 pm

I noticed that there is no more snow. Woohoo! That is a very god sign. APARENTLY the GPS says 3 minutes to go. I wonder if its right. The van is utterly quiet. Fun Fun.

@ 9:15 pm

Were at the motel. I am connected to the internet. Its not too shabby for a motel. I cant wait to get to our villa in Florida tomorrow. Its time to post this to the net. Hello friends and family, I have survived day 1 of Florida.

Story / Book title: Let it Die

Main character: Roy Mclaine
Fellow survivor 1: Holly Dalton
City: New York
Date- Present
Setting: Post apocalyptic
--------------------------------
Manuscript page 1 almost complete.
--------------------------------
SAMPLE OF STORY:

..For one horrifying moment, Roy was gripped with a fear of such intensity that he could to nothing but stare at the horrifying disfigured mass that approached Holly. “Come on damn it, move your ass! If you don't move your ass now, she will DIE.He thought in what was probably a split second. Roy willed his legs to move but could find no strength in them and it seemed that he would not be able to move, until her sudden shriek that consisted mostly of pain, but probably some anger as well, likely at Roy for just standing there as the disfigured man hobbled towards Holly; she had broken her leg falling down the stairwell not long before this on the way down to the subway tunnels, slipping on curdled blood while she was running for a place to hide from a pack of morbidly disfigured and decaying dogs who's ability to smell was hindered by the fact that their noses had begun to rot.

“Roy! Its coming! I can't m-” she snapped fearfully at him, but the yell was cut off as she screeched in pain and rage as the zombie sunk his sharp boney and fleshless fingers into her arm, trying to bite her while she fended him off. In a matter of seconds, Roy went from an utterly paralyzing shock caused by his fear of the creature and confusion as to what was happening, to fear for Holly, and utter rage at the zombie for trying to consume his friend. He was looking around, his eyes and head darting around the visible areas of the tunnel where the light from the surface dimly illuminated for something to attack the zombie with; he was scared shitless and enraged but he had not lost so much sense that he would try to help with his bare hands. After scanning the visible areas in probably 2 seconds or so and getting more desperate, his vision was snagged by a small cloud. When he turned to see what this was, he saw it was a damaged section of pipe, giving off a lot of high-pressured steam.

Quickly and in a panic, he grabbed the scolding hot 3 foot section of piping and gave it a good tug, feeling it creek a bit and give way after a few quick, forceful pulls. Ignoring the searing pain in his hand as the flesh from his palms started to make a sizzle and slightly sick aroma of burnt flesh, he charged at the zombies back and slammed the end of the scolding hot pipe into its head, immediately causing a sick cracking noise, followed by a disturbing and muffled squashing sound. The zombie, seemingly unaffected by its cranium caving in with shreds and chunks of yellow jagged skull shattered into it, Roy let out an outraged and frustrated scream now, all fear had left his mind, and it was replaced by a repeating thought, “Its not fair, this can't be happening! Its just not fair how can this happen, we've been so careful ! I’m going to kill this son of a bitch, I'm going to-” His thoughts were interrupted when he slammed the piping into the base of the zombies skull, cracking the top of the spine and forcing the zombie forward and it made a loud outraged shriek, definitely noticing the interloper behind him now, and swung around with ungodly speed and loose limbs, but failed its attempt to attack him as he started pummeling the creature in the face until the head was obliterated, spraying disgusting brown chunks of curdled infected blood and brittle shattered pieces of bone and blackening flesh and brains stained with the decaying blood, and continued to beat it down until it finally dropped dead. The zombies gut did what he saw the others do when they died to. As if on cue, the abdomen and upper torso ripped open and a brown-red haze gusted out of the body and dissipated in the air, no trace left of the cloud, and the body fell apart as if it were a sculpture made of sand just wet enough to stay in shape until hit by a gust of wind on the beach.. Had he not backed up, he would have inhaled some of the cloud and would have fallen to the same fate as this poor soul whom he had just destroyed, rest his soul.

Roy ran over to where Holly lay sprawled out on the cracked and cold concrete floor of the subway runnel, and saw the small pool of blood, where he noticed, was originating from the punctures and torn flesh in her arm. “Sweet Jesus, they’re starting to grow immune to pain...Holly did it bleed in your wounds? Did it bite you?” He was back into a state of panic, and when she didn't answer him, he went into such a panic that he hardly noticed the speeding subway car go flying past, full of hungry half-dead men and women, shrieking as they went by; a potential meal which they missed. Roy was about to hold her close and try to do what he could, he even tossed the piping aside which was now cooled but his only weapon of self-defense, and stopped when he realized his hands were bleeding a bit from the scolding pipe, and could have exposed himself to what ever was in the blood of the zombies. ...

New Story in the making.

Making a new story..I always wanted to. Its going to be a post-apocalyptic new york zombie story. Hopefully I can make it into a nice little novel. I will post all new sections here as they are completed. As for now, ill post the sample when i get home seeing how im at school @ the moment. Please comment on it, tell me what you think. I also need a name for a competant close friend of the main character who is female. Not a tossaway character =3. Personality help would be nice for her too. Ill accept good suggestions, and all help would be greatly appreciated. =^-^= Main character's name is Roy Mclain.

UPDATE: Dear district 6...

MY TECH TEACHER APPARENTLY GOT A CALL FROM DISTRICT HEAD OFFICE! THEY WANT A MEETING WITH ME AND LIKED MY LETTER! OMG IM SO EXCITED! I CAN VOICE MY OPINION AND HOPEFULLY BENEFIT MY AND MY FRIENDS EDUCATION =^-^= WHEEE!!

Dear school district 6: Your Tech support sucks!

I sent an e-mail to head of district Paul Smith on friday. My letter is voicing the concern of horrible tech support at our school, and a request for things to be made better. This is the message I sent:

To whom this may concern,

My name is Tyler Collins. I am a grade 11 student, who is currently attending Rothesay High School. I am sending you this message today with concern over the lack of technological support in our school. Before I begin this letter, I must first state that I do realize that because of budget cuts due to provincial debt, no more "new" technology or costly additions of technological nature can be purchased or brought in. However, I was hoping to suggest a little time and money saving idea for schools. The idea I'm presenting to you is granting technology teachers access to restricted files in the hard drives of computers to allow software installation and repairs.

First-off, I am aware that repairing computers in the district is the job of Help-Desk but truth-be-told, the help desk that we have is obviously too small solve all technical issues in the district. I do not wish to imply incompetence as when they do their job, they do it well, but merely a lack of people to get around the place in a short time. This is causing severely slow response times for repairs in schools such as ours and its a very serious problem. For example, 2 computers in our main computer lab, "Room 111" which is facilitated by Eric Copeland, can not run Auto-CAD (AutoCAD Lt 2004) due to a "Fatal Error:...". This is due to a corrupt or missing file in the Auto-CAD installation directory. Mr. Copeland suspects it will be at least June of this year before those computers can be repaired by the help desk. Considering that there are also 3 or 4 other disabled computers in the room due to total OS wipe outs, faulty RAM and other hardware/software issues, I’ve found that there is only 1 or 2 remaining computers that are not occupied and will work properly. If the problems persist and any other computers bite the dust, what are we to do? Room 111 in our school is the only one with installed AutoCAD on it. We would have to either wait until June or share computers, which would be pretty difficult to do seeing how the courses available all take every last bit of free time available, and sharing computers can make for very cramped work schedules for students. It hasn't happened yet but if 1 or 2 more computers in our lab stop working correctly, and have to wait until June, we will have to resort to desperate measures to get our work done.

My idea is that all technology teachers in schools of district 6 be granted complete access to restricted files and folders of the hard drives. By this, I mean the ability to install, update, remove and change windows components and 3rd party software. I’m not asking to grant students the same privileges because I realize that the access would be abused far too much by students. Granting administrator rights to locked files and folders in the hard drives to teachers would allow them to keep all computers up to date, re-install broken or missing components, and perform basic repairs to the computers, from Disk Defragmentation to being allowed to re-install Auto-CAD on the computers which need a software repair. This way, help desk would have a significantly lower amount of small jobs to get around to, taking away a good portion of the wait time for repairs on their hands, meaning they can get to the more severe problems faster and less money having to be spend on sending them out per job as there would be less. It would also allow us to receive new drivers for internal components as they are released instead of waiting long periods of time for them, so that our computers could run to the best of their capabilities.

            The down-sides to this new idea, would likely mainly be the following ;

1. Perhaps a tech teacher may not know how to carry out proper repairs safely or even at all, or perhaps just do not want to do that them selves.

A possible solution would be to make help desk support for software problems optional, not mandatory, and to maybe survey the teachers of what they know about digital technology and software before granting administrative rights to the hard drives secured files.

2. Help-Desk will receive less work to do, therefore less money for them.

However, some schools may not be able to carry out certain software repairs, and still call on them for support. Others may need hardware repairs, which there is certainly no shortage of. Help-Desk is also still handling other things such as Smart Board repairs and set-ups, and this is multiple schools so surely they would not have a shortage of things to be paid to do.

I realize that I am only a student, and that I probably cannot do anything to provoke some change (for better or for worse), but I have felt for the past 2 years that support has been very limited, frustrating and delayed, and hoped for some change but have of course, seen none. So out of concern I have decided to send this. I have made this suggestion for the sake of my own  and my peer's education, which is slowed, delayed and snagged by many technical difficulties that usually get resolved a few months following a support request being sent, and perhaps change could be made. Perhaps you may like my idea, and perhaps you may use a deviating idea from this, or ignore it all together, but I do sincerely hope that someone will see that we, the students of this district, need a change in how support is brought to us, and that its a struggle to get around all the big issues presented to us due to the limited and very delayed support for our broken down computers in which we rely on.

If you for any reason would like to contact me, I am available at
TyCo00336@student.nbed.nb.ca

Thank you very much for your time.
Sincerely, Tyler Collins of RHS, District 6

The beginning of the obssesion

Well, im replacing my twitter with a blog, so I can post new stuff and updates and such without all my friends pushing my tweets down, and so I can rant and rave about all of my favorite stuff =^-^=. If you hadn't guessed already, im blogging my life, The life Of a Geeky Teen Boy. Ill update freaquently on my latest nerd-outs, technological discoveries, maybe even post episodes of fringe here just 'cuz I love the show :3.
